Trial of Three Migrants for Alleged Rape in Brighton
Next year, three migrants are set to face trial in Brighton, charged with the rape of a 33-year-old woman. The incident reportedly occurred on October 4, early in the morning, on the beach's lower esplanade, where the men allegedly assaulted the victim after she had enjoyed a night out at a local club. The accused, 20-year-old Karin al-Danasurt and 25-year-olds Ibrahim Alshafe and Abdulla Ahmadi, all arrived in the UK via small boats. They have been charged with two counts of rape each. Alshafe and Ahmadi have been denied asylum, while Danasurt is under investigation for possible immigration violations. During a recent court appearance, the hearing was postponed due to a lack of a necessary interpreter. The men are expected to enter their pleas next month, with a trial scheduled for March. The Home Office expressed concern over the allegations, emphasizing the need for thorough police investigations. Sussex police have praised the victim's courage and reaffirmed their commitment to community safety, particularly for women and girls.
